Segurança dos componentes sanguíneos

- Quality Management Systems - implementation in progress according to ISO9001: 2015.

- Donor selection - healthy, vaccinated and dewormed.

- Annual blood testing (available for consultation on our website):

          Complete blood count;

          Search for hemoparasites and erythrocyte changes in blood smear;

          Biochemistry;

          PCR for Mycoplasma haemofelis, Candidatus Mycoplasma haemominutum and Candidatus turicensis (in cats);

          PCR for Leishmania, Ehrlichia, Babesia, Anaplasma and Dirofilaria (in dogs);

          FIV / FeLV immunochromatography (in cats).

- Blood typing of donors.

- Strict cleaning and sterilization procedures during collection, processing and storage to ensure a closed collecting system is maintained.

- Quality control of processed units by carrying out frequent bacteriological cultures, analysis of packed cell volume, hemoglobin concentration and percentage of hemolysis.

- Quality control of packed red blood cells with more than 4 weeks to ensure the viability of erythrocytes until the end of storage time.

- Deep freezing of plasma, cryoprecipitate, platelet gel and platelet concentrate units (-80⁰C) in order to avoid large crystalization and thus guaranteeing better cell and protein stability during storage, which ensures therapeutic properties of stored proteins.

- Temperature control during transport and storage.

- Procedures established according to the standards and requirements of the European Council for human blood banks.

- Computerized systems that allow for the rapid traceability of any blood components unit.
